Copenhagen Mini Guide

Copenhagen Mini Guide

Welcome to my first city guide! I take pride in discovering the best things to do in every city I visit—from amazing restaurants and hidden local vintage shops to unique spots you won’t find on the typical "Things to Do" lists. These mini guides are always free on my website, but if you’re looking for the full guide with 40+ recommendations per city, I’d love for you to join as a subscriber. Hope you enjoy it!

Copenhagen disclaimer:

  • Everything here is VERY expensive. Be prepared for that! Everything in this city is picture perfect and the locals are so kind so for me it's worth the visit, but be prepared that almost every meal is over $20 USD.

Restaurants

Baest

First on the list is one of the best pizzas I've had. I got the pizza with tomato sauce, garlic, and oregano, and you definitely need to add Stracciatella. I recommend going for dinner to really enjoy the atmosphere. There are plenty of young locals in the area, either grabbing a drink after work or catching up with friends. Just a heads up—the service might be a bit slower than what we're used to, but take a moment to appreciate the restaurant’s beautiful ambiance. It’s worth it!

Leckerbaer

The most GORGEOUS desserts ever - the type you won't be able to not share a photo of. They're only opened Tuesday-Friday until 4:45 so make sure to make time for this in the first half of your day. I recommend starting your day here and trying a Matcha Latte + a dessert of your choice.

Hidden Dimsum

A family owned restaurant with amazing dimsum and adorable interiors. The staff are so welcoming and really make the experience that much better. A few of the dishes weren't my favorites, but you can't go wrong with the classics.

Shopping

Hay House

The one and the only! A Copenhagen shopping MUST. If you're into interior design at all stop by Hay and check out their amazing lanterns, chairs, and home accessories. A gorgeous place to walk around - make sure to check out all of the floors!

New Mags

A fun shop to pop in to check out their amazing collection of magazines and books. I left feeling so inspired! If you're looking to take a gorgeous coffee table book home, look no further.

Ganni Postmodern

Ganni was founded in Copenhagen, making it even more special to snag a Ganni piece while you’re in the city. They offer fun and unique designs that truly embody Danish style. Plus, there's a special store in Copenhagen that sells second-hand pieces at a fraction of the original price!

Vintage

I want to preface this by mentioning that many of my favorite vintage shops in Copenhagen have pieces that are on the pricier side. However, the taste of the curation makes it worth it for me! This isn't the place to get a bunch of pieces, but instead 1 or 2 pieces that you love.

Carmen

A beautifully curated shop in the best area! I added this to the list in hopes you'll spend a few hours going door to door and checking out all of the vintage shops on the same block.

Collectors Cage Vintage

They have the most STUNNING authentic designer bags! Even if you aren't planning on purchasing, it's still so much fun to stop by and admire.

Crush

A colorful 90's heaven that you don't want to miss! From leather goods to boots and everything in between.

Things To Do

There are obviously many traditional and historical things to do in Copenhagen, but I wanted to add some different ideas of things you might not already consider to do!

Go Boat Rentals

We did this on our last night in the city and it was so special! I would recommend booking the hour or two hour rental and bringing a mini charcuterie from a local grocery store. So much fun!

Copenhagen Contemporary

One of my favorite museums I've seen while traveling. The James Turrell piece had me speechless!

Rosenborg Castle

We walked around the grounds of this gorgeous castle while we ate Swedish candy from a local candy store and it was 10/10. Would be an amazing place for a picnic or to bring your lunch to-go. I've heard the tour inside of the castle is amazing as well!
