Ireland Mini Guide

Ireland Mini Guide

I just got back from Ireland and honestly, I loved it even more the second time around! When I found round-trip flights from Salt Lake for $450, I couldn’t resist and I convinced my friend Sierra to come along. It ended up being such a memorable trip and I’m excited to share my favorite spots, itinerary, and travel tips!

Normally, I keep my guides city-specific (like Copenhagen, London, or New York), but for Ireland it made more sense to pull everything into one. Smaller towns like Doolin and Killarney don’t quite need their own full guide, so I’ve grouped them all together here. If I go back and find more spots in other small towns I'll add them to the list!

These mini guides are always free on my website, but if you’re looking for the full guide with 40+ recommendations per city, I’d love for you to join as a subscriber. Hope you enjoy it!

Restaurants

Don’t tell anyone in Ireland I said this, but the food can be a little hit or miss! My list is on the shorter side because I only included the spots I truly loved (not everywhere I tried made the cut). That said, there are definitely some gems! A big part of Irish food culture is tied to the pub scene... I don’t drink, so you won’t see pubs on my list, but if you do, make sure to check a few out.

Bread 41 (dublin)

Amazing pastries! Great stop before checking out Trinity College

The Ivy Cottage (Doolin)

If you're doing the cliffs of moher, this is a must stop for fish and chips.

Murphy's

This is a chain so you can find it most cities, so creamy and good.

Shopping

Here's a few of my favorite shops! This is a mix of vintage and new shops so hopefully there's something for everyone. Another thing I'll preface with is that most of the vintage/thrift shops had a very Y2K style, keep that in mind! If that's not your vibe you might have a tougher time finding pieces you like.

Doolin Shops

Next to The Ivy Cottage in Doolin is a few little shops that have great souvenirs, books, postcards, etc.

Ennistymon Shops

Not too far from Doolin is a town called Ennistymon and they had a few cute bookshops, vintage stores, etc.

Nine Crows Vintage - Dublin

Things To Do

Most of these are pretty touristy because they're well known for a reason. You can't go to ireland and not hit these spots!

Cliffs of Moher + Cliffs of Moher Boat Tour

I would check the weather and go on the sunniest day, it's seriously so beautiful! I would also recommend the boat tour out of dooling because it's only like $35, but if you get sea sick easily beware.

Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is basically one big scenic loop: mountains, lakes, tiny villages, and wild Atlantic views all in one drive! The Kerry Cliffs are probably the prettiest view I've EVER seen.

Trinity College (Dublin)

The book of kells is so cool and I loved the library so much. Also if you watch normal people it's extra special! Make sure to book a time in advance
